The story of a photographer

My photography journey started as a kid. I participated in a 4-H photography class and loved it! I loved seeing what images I captured on film. As I grew older I learned that it was more than just an image on a page, a photograph does so much more….it tells a story, provokes an emotion, freezes a moment in time, to relive for generations.

Photography has not always been a career for me, I am also an Occupational Therapist. It was during my time as a home health OT that I discovered my love for capturing moments and working with families! I used to take my camera with me everyday and take photos of old barns, fields and scenery as I drove around in the rural areas of KY. Discussing and showing some of my photos to one of my patients, she asked if I could take some photos of her granddaughter. I agreed, and was hooked!! I loved being able to provide her with the timeless gift of photos of her beautiful granddaughter. I began taking classes, researching and practicing on anyone that would let me! Over time, through word of mouth, and lots of blood sweat and tears my passion became a career!

I am SO thankful for the people I have met and worked with along the way, and I truly have loved watching families grow over the years. It is an honor and a privilege to be someone’s photographer.
